The Pinarello Bicycle Company is based in Treviso, Italy. And are makers of High end and professional Road Cycles. Pinarello Bicycles started life in the 1940s when Giovanni Pinarello started making Road Cycle Frames from his home workshop in Catena d Vilorba, Italy. Pinarello had been a keen cyclist but by1952 had given up the sport to concentrate on production of his highly regarded frames and to open his first Pinarello shop in the Town of Treviso, Italy. Treviso is based in a popular cycling area of Italy and a prosperous area and as such Giovanni found a ready-made market for his high end Pinarello Road Frames and bicycles.

Giovanni Pinarello having been a keen cyclist saw right from the start that his Pinarello bikes should have a strong presence as sponsor and supplier of Road Race Cycle Teams, initially Pinarello sponsored local bike teams from Treviso and the surrounding area. But Pinarello by 1957 had expanded to national races and countrywide sponsorship and exposure. This was greatly helped by the La Padovani cycle team winning the Italian Road Bike Championship of 1957 riding Pinarello Bicycles. Pinarello sponsored his first professional cycle team in 1960 when Team Mainetti rode Pinarello Bikes and by 1967 had grown even larger in stature when Italian Rider Guido de Russo of Team Mainetti won the Tour de Avenir, France. On a Pinarello Bike. The Pinarello brand continued to grow and gain more recognition and by the mid 1970s had won their first Giro d’Italia, when Fausto Bertogolio of Jolly Ceramica Cycle Team won the famed Pink Jersey (general classification) for the 1975 Giro d’Italia. Throughout the 1980s Pinarello Bikes became a familiar site on the Pro Road Race Circuit being the choice of many professional cyclists and winning many prestigious races. By the 1990s Pinarello bikes had been adopted by the Spanish Cycle Team, Team Banesto and achieved unparallel success with Banesto Team captain Miguel Indurain then record breaking 5 consecutive overall wins at the Tour De France. Yellow Jersey winners Bjarne Riis further enhanced Pinarello Bikes reputation and the following year Jan Ullrich, giving Pinarello and unbeaten seven year consecutive run of Tour De France GC winners. Other notable Tour De France stage and jersey winners who were riding Pinarello at the time Erik Zabel winner of the green Mario Cipollini. Pinarello Cycles are currently being ridden by the Spanish Caisse d EPargne Team to the same level of success.

PINARELLO Bike RANGE

Pinarello specialize in the High Quality Top end of Road Bike manufacture and have a long tradition for quality and attention to detail. The PInarello Bicycle Range is still surprisingly comprehensive with entry level road bikes at an affordable price right up to top spec high road bikes.

Top of the Range is The Pinarello Dogma with a frame weight for the Dogma Carbon of only 950 grams, and available in carbon or Titanium composite. The Dogma is closely followed by the world famous Pinarello Prince now in its third generation and being constructed from constructed from 50 HM (High Modulus) Torayca@ Carbon Composite with a 1k weave.

The Prince Frameset is constructed as a monocoque build. With performance and comfort being the two factors most important to the Prince design. The Pinarello Paris is another top end Bicycle, constructed from 46HM3K Carbon with an ultra lightweight of 990 grams for the 54cm Paris Frameset. The characteristics of the Pinarello Paris are different to the Prince with an emphasis on comfort; Both Bikes are ridden by professional Cycle Teams and are Race bike thoroughbreds.

   The Pedigree of Pinarello Road Frames is proven, with an unbroken seven-year run of winners riding Pinarello road bikes in the Tour de France. From Miguel Indurain five in a row through Bjarne Rhys and Jan Ullrich's subsequent Tour De France wins.
   Top of the Pinarello bike range for many years has been the Pinarello Prince. Now in its third generation and still winning races and turning heads. The Pinarello Prince Carbon is the latest incarnation of the Prince brand being made from a Monocoque construction of 50HM1K Carbon composite, 50 (High Modulus) carbon with a 1K weave finish. The Pinarello Prince frameset is supplied with Pinarello’s excellent and distinct wavy ONDA Forks made from the same 50HM1K high quality carbon composite as the Prince mainframe, also incorporated into the Prince frame are the Pinarello ONDA wavy carbon 50HM1K Seat stays. Both the Forks and Seat stays have been designed for racing and are exceptionally stiff and responsive but the wavy design gives added shock absorbance and greater comfort for long rides.
   Pinarello Prince has been at the very pinnacle of High Quality Racing for many years since it was first introduced in Tour De France 1997 the original Frame being of lightweight Alu Alloy with Carbon Seat Stays by Pinarello. The second incarnation called the Pinarello Prince SL still used an Alloy main frame but one considerably lighter than the first generation of Prince and this coupled with improved weight saving with new Pinarello carbon Seat Stays and the ONDA Forks let to major weight saving over first generation Prince's.
